Result List Formatting

The formatting of a Result List is separate from the Result List itself. The formatting of a Result List is defined by a Result List Format definition file. Which allows the displaying of a Result List to programmatically change according to the status, screen resolution, or the current segment.

The Result List Format definition defines:

The data fields to show. Common ones include Rank, Display Name, and a participant's score for an Event.

The columns to display, with each column including one or more data fields.

When to display each column.

The CSS classes to include for each cell.

When to apply each css class.

Common Rules for Result List Formatting

While each Result List Format is defined separately, they are composed with a set of common rules.

NOTE: An "Ordered Result List" is a formatted, stylized, and displayed Result List.

1.Ordered Result Lists should fit cleanly within the width of the display medium. For example, on a mobile device an Ordered Result List may only show rank, participant name and score. But the same Result List printed on a landscape sheet of paper, may include scores for each stage, attribute values, and remarks.

2.Rank, Display Name, and Aggregate score are always included.

3.Gap or DFL (distance from leader) is displayed on Intermediate status Result Lists.

4.On interactive mediums (e.g. Rezults website), the aggregate scores links to the participant's individual results. The participant's name is linked to their online profile, if enabled.

5.The Remarks column is only displayed when one or more participants have a Remark.
