The Network Manager is the "hub" of an Orion for Clubs Athena Range. There is one Network Manager for each Athena Range.
Unpacking and Setting Up the Network Manager
The Network Manager is a orange colored, relatively small form factor Linux based server.
1.Place the Network Manager physically near where you plan to have your router.
2.Connect ONLY ONE of the Network Manager's Ethernet ports to the Router.
3.Screw in the "rabbit ear" WiFi antennas if present in your box (not all Network Managers come with WiFi).
4.Plug the Network Manager in and turn it on.
Note the Network Manager does not need a monitor, mouse or keyboard to run on a day to day basis.
In order for an Athena Range to operate, the Network Manager must always be turned on. These devices are designed to run nearly indefinitely.
The Network Manager must always be connected to the Athena Network. An wired Ethernet connection is recommended, but it may also be connected via WiFi. If purchased through Scopos, the Network Manager is already configured to connect to your Athena WiFi Network.
The Network Manager, because it is a Linux server, may be access through a terminal (HDMI monitor with keyboard and mouse) or by remote access with SSH. For more information visit Network and Terminal Access.
