The height of the target is generally controlled by the competition or practice course of fire script. For example, if shooting a three position air rifle match, standing targets are set to 1400mm, kneeling targets to 800mm, and prone targets to 500mm. As a range officer, these values are largely automated for you.
Occasionally it becomes necessary to override the target height during a course of fire. A common reason why is, an athlete has a bum knee and can't get into kneeling. Per rule, they would be allowed to shoot their kneeling stage in the standing position. To enable this, their target's height should be changed to 1400mm. With Athena doing so is easy.
To override target height on an athlete's firing point:
1.Open the Athena Maintenance form, to do so from the menu bar click on Athena -> Athena Unit Maintenance.
2.Select the Target you wish to override the target height setting. You may select more than one.
3.From the form's menu click on Target Height -> Override Range Script -> [Desired Height].
To return the Target's Target Height to the control of the Range Script:
1.Open the Athena Maintenance form, to do so from the menu bar click on Athena -> Athena Unit Maintenance.
2.Select the Target you wish to clear the override for.
3.From the form's menu click on Target Height -> Clear Override.
There are two Target Height menu options that change the height of the Target, Override Range Script and Temporarily Set Height. The differences between the two are subtle but important.
•Override Range Script will set the Target Height and keep it set through the remainder of the course of fire. It will only be cleared with a new relay or new course of fire.
•Temporarily Set Height will set the Target Height only for the current SegmentGroupSegment within the Course of Fire's Range Script.
