<< Click to Display Table of Contents >> Navigation: Support > Athena Support > Orion's Integration with Athena > Maintenance Operations on an Athena Range |
Orion's Athena Maintenance form may be used to perform system operations on the Targets, Monitors, and Displays.
To open the form, from the menu bar click on Athena -> Athena Unit Maintenance.
Function |
Explanation |
Select All |
Selects all of the Targets, Monitors, and Displays in the list. |
Deselect All |
Deselects all of the EST Units in the list. |
Maintenance Mode |
Puts the selected Targets into Maintenance Mode. In this mode the targets will not score any shots or report frame hits. This function does not have any effect on Displays or Monitors. |
Scoring Mode |
Returns the selected Targets to Scoring Mode, where they will score shots and report frame hits. This function does not have any effect on Displays or Monitors. |
Disabling Simulation Mode |
Targets can manually be put into a Simulation Mode, where none of the hardware features on the target runs (e.g. the Target Lift). Disabling the Simulation returns the targets to their normal operation. Monitors can manually be put into Simulation Mode to allow the simulation of shots. To disable simulation, for either Targets or Monitors, hold the SHIFT key down and click the Maintenance Mode button. |
Soft Reboot |
Restarts the process on the selected Targets, Monitors, or Displays. Does not restart the Operating System. After issuing this command, the EST Units purposefully will wait 10s before restarting. On Targets, while the system is rebooting, the RED light will turn on the and the targets light will dim. |
Hard Reboot |
Restarts the Operating System on the selected Targets, Monitors, or Displays. After issuing this command, the EST Units purposefully will wait 60s before rebooting. On Targets, while the system is rebooting, the RED light will turn on the and the targets light will dim. |
Shutdown |
Shuts the operating system down on the selected Targets, Monitors, or Displays. After issuing this command, the EST Units purposefully will wait 60s before shutting down. Once the OS is shutdown power may (and should be) safely turned off. On Targets, while the system is rebooting, the RED light will turn on the and the targets light will dim. However, the RED lights will turn off and the targets lights will be restored once shutdown is complete. This indicates it is safe to turn the power off. |

Scoring Mode |
Returns the selected Targets to Scoring Mode, where they will score shots and report frame hits. This function does not have any effect on Displays or Monitors. |
Enable / Disable |
Either Enables or Disables the selected firing points or Displays. Enabled means Orion can control the firing point or Display during a competition. Disable means Orion will not attempt to control the firing point or Display, however Maintenance operations may still be possible. If a Target, Monitor, or Display is down for repair it is generally best to Disable those units. |
Self Diagnostic |
Only applies to Targets. Runs the Target's alignment process to try and identify the alignment shape and aiming bull detection. |
Save State File |
To help prolong SD Card lifespan, EST Units are programmed to only occasionally save their state files occasionally (and on shutdown). By sending the Save State File command to a EST Unit you are requesting them to save their state file immediately. To have the EST Units save their state file immediately, hold the SHIFT key down and click the Self Diagnostic menu item. |
Opens a form to edit the setting values for the Target Lift on the selected Target. Only one Target may be selected at a time for this operation. |
|
Opens a form to edit the setting values for the Tape Feed on the selected Target. Only one Target may be selected at a time for this operation. |
|
Allows you to view the video stream from the target's camera and calibrate the Target's camera. |
|
View Maintenance Schedule |
Opens your web browser to the recommended maintenance schedule for your EST Units. |
Ping EST Units |
Sends a software ping to all EST Units. The results are displayed in the Range Control tab. |
Function |
Explanation |
Change the targets height and keep the change until the Range Officer clears the override. |
|
Clear Override |
Clear the current target height change and resume the range script as before. |
Temporary Target Lift |
Change the target height for this section only, target height will change when the athlete continues to the next stage. |
Reset Target Lift |
Return the targets to standing position. |
Standing 1400mm |
Sends a request to the Target to change its height to 1400mm. This is also the reset condition, that will always move the target lift up to its highest point (1400mm). |
Kneeling 800mm |
Sends a request to the Target to change its height to 800mm. This function does not have any effect on Displays or Monitors. |
Prone 500mm |
Sends a request to the Target to change its height to 500mm. This function does not have any effect on Displays or Monitors. |
Function |
Explanation |
Select All |
Selects all of the Targets, Monitors, Displays in the list. |
Send Practice to Target |
Sends Practice Mode to the selected Targets and Monitors. |
Set Display Marquee |
Sets the marquee message to display on the Displays. |
Simulate Shots |
Sends commands to the selected Targets to simulate shots. You can simulate up to 500 shots for each course of fire. Turn simulated shots on or off. Set the frequency, in seconds. Set the standard deviation of the shots, in mm. |
Advance Tape Feed |
Advances the tape feed, on the selected Targets, the specified amount. All lengths are in millimeters. |
Set Tape Feed Advance |
Sets the default tape feed advance on the target, measured in mm. Note, a target's tape feed advance is reset with each new practice match (16mm) or competition (26mm). |
Set Camera Brightness |
Camera Brightness is an internal setting to Athena's scoring algorithm. Unless told to do so by Orion and Athena's support team keep the value set to 80, the default. |
Set Bullet Diameter |
Orion typically sets the Bullet Diameter for you when a Course of Fire is sent to the Athena targets. Air Rifle and Air Pistol COFs use 4.5mm, Smallbore rifle COFs use 5.6mm. This option allows you to override these defaults. Note that changing this value could cause Athena to score inaccurately if set incorrectly. |
Frame Hit Detector |
Enables or disables a Target's frame hit detector. |
Set Logging Level |
Sets the Logging Level. If the logging level is set to high, an excess number of messages and files will be written to the EST Unit's Micro SD Card and could over time damage it. •Critical: Only log critical messages. •Default (Error): Only log error and critical messages. •Warning: Log critical, error, and warning messages. •Info: Log critical, error, warning, and info messages. •Debug: Log everything. This setting is very verbose. |
Manual Upgrade EST Software |
Opens a form that will use ssh commands to log into the selected unit and manually upgrade the firmware. |
Rotate Display Entity |
Sends a command to the selected Displays to rotate to the next Display Entity. |
Set Calibration Board Size |
On the selected Targets, sets the Calibration Board size to use during camera calibration. The board size is listed near the upper left. Please note, Calibration Boards of size 14 x 18 (also called Large Calibration Boards) are not compatible with Athena's NC Model targets. |
