It is a best practice to always put your Targets into Maintenance Mode when physically interacting with them, as you would when performing any of the maintenance operations listed on this page.
•Inspect the paper roll, replace if needed.
•Inspect the lead collection bag (NC100 models only), replace if needed.
•Inspect the front aiming mask, replace if there is any physical shot holes or other damage.
•Tear off the spent portion of the paper roll.
•When not in use, NC Model units should be turned off.
•Inspect the paper roll, replace if needed.
•Inspect the lead collection bag (NC100 models only), replace if needed.
•Replace the back aiming mask. Do not skip this step, the back aiming mask plays a roll in the accurate scoring of shots.
•Inspect the front aiming mask, replace if there is any physical shot holes or other damage.
•After replacing the masks, advance the paper roll such that all shot holes in the paper can be torn off. This will make it easier for the Range Officers to count shots fired by the athlete in case of a dispute. Then tear off the spent portion of the paper roll.
•Repair the paint on the steel plates caused by any frame hits.
•Replace the back aiming mask. Do not skip this step, the back aiming mask plays a roll in the accurate scoring of shots.
•Inspect the backstop (if installed) for:
oLead build up on the backstop, use a flat head screwdriver or a drywall knife to remove any build up.
oPellets that did not drop through the trap, manually remove them if found.
•Apply a small amount of silicon lubricant to the center of the backstop (if installed). This will help with future lead build up.
•Using canned air, clear off any dust or debris that landed on any of the LED lights or the X-O Light mirror.
•Using a microfiber cloth, clean the camera lens.
•Repair the paint on the steel plates caused by any frame hits.
•Using grease or a lubricant, lube the target lift screw rod, pole, and gears.
•Use a 7/16th in wrench to make sure each nut and bolt is snug (but do not over tighten). This is especially true for the nuts and bolts on the target lift clamps.
•For NC100 units, clean or replace the foam behind the air gun backstop.
After performing any maintenance operation on any NC Unit, which will contain lead dust, wash your hands with soap and water before returning to work or training.
